Oh dear.
I appear to have erased ALL the albums so carefully loaded last night on my sodding iPod.
What does 'reformatting' mean? Does it mean 'I shall erase everything you've done so far, silly moo'?
And more importantly, does that mean that I must go back to Mr Single for some further 'reformatting'?
Crucially... shall I take a bar of soap with me?

Yep reformatting means Wipfe is clean as good as new!!!!!

dont worry just remember everytime you Sync your Ipod with Itunes.. you are probably deleting and adding new.
so its best to keep all the sound tracks sorted so if u are updating.. it all goes in to ipod one again

Pro You have no idea of the mess I have made of this. I now have on this sodding iPod 'unknown author' tracks, three lots of n.1, n.2, n.3 etc.. all the way to n.11 and have no clue as to what they are. Could be REM, could be Athlete. My Music Library is equally messy. Just like my life. I do need help. xLux

Sounds like you've have ineffective instructions. I can think of some that might suit better, but I shall leave you, your iPod and Mr single to work on them.

Pro I think he was working on Mac and I have Windows. A typical case of Mars vs Venus. I just don't get why he didn't ask me whether I have Windows... Do all men just assume that their planet is the only one in the galaxy?

lol, reformatting does mean wipe it all out I reckon. Maybe you should check out the support part of the ipod website before you visit Mr Single again, just so you have a bit more of an idea what he is doing ( with the ipod that is, the rest is up to you
